Training & Facilitation

I have designed and delivered training for a range of clients across the public, private and social services sectors to-date. While much of my training work has had a strong focus on influencing key decision-makers to consider matters of access and inclusion in their day-to-day work, I have also delivered sessions to new and emerging advocates on topics such as strategic advocacy and campaigning.

My greatest strength as a facilitator lies in my ability to meaningfully engage with participants and keep sessions interactive, light-hearted and fun. As a subject matter expert, I am also able to respond to participants’ queries with confidence and ease so that nobody walks away from one of my sessions with their questions unanswered.

I am also in the process of developing a training package for new advocates which will cover the following topics:

  • How we talk about disability – models of practice
  • Disability within the international human rights framework
  • Understanding key human rights concepts
  • Understanding how human rights are imbedded in Australian law and policy
  • Avenues of influence ñ understanding the options that are available to raise complaints about breaches of human rights in Australia

Please note: My training and development work is underpinned by a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment which was obtained through TAFE NSW.

Policy writing and research

To say I’m a nerd would be a complete understatement. There is nothing I love more than analysing legislation and policy instruments to work out how all of the pieces fit together, and what loopholes exist to address a particular issue. Whether you need assistance to develop submissions, position papers, influencing strategies or other important policy documents, I’m here to help!
