The Application of Human Rights in Australian Disability Advocacy

Targeted at professionals working across the Australian disability advocacy sector, this workshop will explore:

• How we talk about disability – models of practice
• Disability within the international human rights framework
• Key human rights concepts
• How human rights are imbedded in Australian law and policy
• Avenues of influence, and options that are available to raise complaints about breaches of human rights in Australia
