Training Update

I’m heading into the city this morning to pilot a new workshop for staff working in management and recruitment roles within small to medium businesses. It gets into the nuts and bolts of why and how to attract workers with disability and covers concepts like unconscious bias and indirect discrimination. The challenge is always in making these topics sexy, but I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve and am ready for a fun an engaging session. I won’t be breaking out the Lego kits for this one, but if people don’t have fun while they are learning it’s a waste of time and energy as far as I’m concerned. People remember the things they enjoy. This is one of the basic principles of adult learning theory.
